Level Artist
As a Level Artist at Alpha Channel Inc., you’ll help create high quality art to bring our worlds to life. You’ll help model and texture the base world geometry, create and place props for set dressing and help guide composition to have the maximum impact
Responsibilities Include:
Model and texture high quality assets
Build high-res assets where needed and bake clean normals for the low-poly version
Place created and exiting assets to create beautiful and believable environments
Set up lighting and atmospheric settings to showcase your level or achieve a desired mood
Work closely with Level Designers and Narrative teams to tell stories and support intended gameplay
Optimize your level to run within defined performance constraints
Qualifications:
You have previous experience as a Level Artist with at least one game shipped
Understanding of how to optimize assets and scenes for game development.
Solid 3D art capabilities, preferably with 3DS Max
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work autonomously with little supervision
Able to work hand-in-hand with designers to balance art, gameplay and narrative needs
Passionate about video games and the game development industry
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5
Experience with Substance Designer/Painter
Experience with ZBrush or other sculpting tools
Experience with creating particle effects in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 using Cascade or Niagara
JIRA Experience
